YUI Weekly for September 20th, 2013
Welcome to YUI Weekly, the weekly roundup of news and announcements from the YUI team and community. If you have any interesting demos or links you’d like to share, feel free to leave a comment below.
YUIConf 2013 is quickly approaching! Registration is now open, and if the last 4 years are any indication, there will be a full house so register soon! We're also happy to announce that there will be two workshops the day before the conference available for anyone interesting in enhancing their knowledge of the library. One class is an entry level course while the other provides more advanced information.
At this week’s Open Roundtable, discussion topics included YUIConf, code coverage using Istanbul, an update on shorter combo URLs, migration of the YUI Forums to yui-support, pulls requests, and up for grabs bugs. You can find a video of that Hangout here.
Core team member Clarence Leung (@clarle) posted a gist that proposes the introduction of
BaseComputable, which centers on the idea of idea of computable properties. These are properties where one
Attributemay be dependent on the value of one or more other
Attributes. Check out this discussion thread on yui-contrib for further details.
Recent threads on the contributor mailing list include a proposal to improve gesture events, a proposal to formally deprecate PHP Loader, and an update on the removal of all SWF-based features from YUI.
