YUI: Open Hours Wed Jan 19th

By YUI TeamJanuary 14, 2011

Welcoming in 2011, YUI: Open Hours will be starting up again, and the first installment of the new year will be next Wednesday, the 19th.

Naturally, with the release of YUI 3.3.0, that will be the main topic of this year's first Open Hours. I'm going to try to wrangle as many of the YUI team and outside contributors as I can to join the call, and we'll go over our favorite highlights then open the conversation to hear about what you have already played with from the preview releases. We'll have an update on 2.9, then (and I'm pretty excited about this), start talking 3.x roadmap for 2011. And we want your ideas, your feedback. Where do you want to see YUI going this year? What are the hot ticket items on your wish list?

So come and chat with the YUI team about what's new and what the future will hold!

In other news from the program logistics front, there will be some changes to the Open Hours format:

  • First, we'll be shortening the call from 2 hours to a more business-hours-friendly 1 hour
  • I'm going to incorporate an implementation focus style section on every call, so we can all learn how YUI 3 is being used in the trenches (subject to special topics, like new releases
  • And lastly and awesomely, Eric Ferraiuolo, of TipTheWeb fame, will be joining me as a permanent cohost. He's been living the YUI 3 dream since 3.0 beta 1, and will add the voice and experience of real world application.

We'll be online from 10am to 11pm PST unless the conversation is too good to stop. The connection details are the same as usual.

  1. Dial in to 1-888-371-8922 (Skype works great for non-US participants*)
  2. Enter the attendee code 47188953#
  3. Join the screen sharing session (this will prompt you to install the Adobe Connect plugin if this is your first time using it)

Don't forget to subscribe to the YUI Calendar and follow @yuilibrary on Twitter for the latest updates on Open Hours and other YUI interestingness.

See you there!
